Anaerobic microbiome .
DNA Genotek has been exclusively offering Anaerobe Systems products since 2024.
Anaerobe Systems’ culture and transport media are sterilized, cast and packaged under anaerobic conditions. Anaerobe Systems thus offers a comprehensive range of sampling and anaerobically sterilized (PRAS) plate and culture media for the collection and cultivation of anaerobic and facultative anaerobic microbiome.
As the exclusive distributor of DNA Genotek for Germany and Austria , you can also obtain Anaerobe Systems products exclusively from us.

BIOME-Preserve collection kit AS-930 .
What is special about the BIOME-Preserve collection kit? ?
BIOME-Preserve is a collection kit that preserves live microbiome samples (e.g. from stool or fecal samples) for the growth and isolation of anaerobic and facultative anaerobic microorganisms.
The product preserves microorganisms under anaerobic conditions at room temperature for up to 5 days without significant loss of viability.
It has been shown that BIOME-Preserve can viably conserve species with low and very low abundance as well as many other species:
- Bifidobacterium spp.
- Bacteroides spp.
- Blautia spp.
- Eubacterium halii
- Akkermansia muciniphila
- Faecalibacterium prausnitzii
- and many more

Product information BIOME-Preserve .
The collection and cultivation of organisms from complex biological samples (e.g. from stool) is difficult.
Obligate anaerobic organisms are killed in the presence of atmospheric oxygen. Acidic and other metabolic by-products can also kill the microorganisms in the sample if growth continues after sampling.
The proliferation of some fast-growing organisms in a sample prevents the recovery of less abundant, fastidious or slow-growing organisms.
AS-930 Microbiome Sampling Kit:
Stool collection tube with integrated 1 mL collection scoop on the cap.
The tube is made of clear polypropylene plastic and is filled with 12 mL of the liquid BIOME-preserve medium.
Preservative solution:
Liquid medium, pre-reduced and filled anaerobically into tubes. The medium is a non-nutritive phosphate buffer containing mineral salts, oxygen scavengers, antioxidants and cryopreservatives.
Storage and shelf life:
The product can be stored at room temperature or refrigerated. Avoid freezing before use. However, the sample can be frozen after collection. Brief exposure to higher temperatures, e.g. during shipping, does not affect the performance of the product.
The BIOME-pPeserve kit should be used within 6 months of the date of manufacture. Microbiome samples taken before the expiry date of the product can be preserved and stored at -80 ºC beyond the expiry date.
The collection tubes are individually packed in foil bags under anaerobic conditions.
Sample storage and transportation:
For optimal recovery, it is recommended that samples be transported and processed within 96 hours of sample collection. Longer transportation times are possible, up to 5 days, with a lower recovery rate. The samples should be stored and transported at room temperature in a BIOME-Preserve device. Cooling the sample is not necessary, but can help to slow down the possible growth or metabolism of organisms. Temporary freezing for shipping is not recommended unless samples are to remain frozen until processing, and users should avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles. For long-term storage, the samples can be frozen at -80º C. Find out about the labeling and packaging requirements for shipping stool samples in your municipality, state, province or country.
